Allied Universal in Jacksonville, FL seeks a part-time Security Officer specialized in patrol communications to protect client sites across utilities and more. You will monitor areas, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service while following site policies.

The role supports flexible scheduling with the Claim a Shift platform; the ideal candidate has security, law enforcement, or military experience and a high school diploma, plus background checks and drug screening as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be performed in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, service calls, and critical situations calmly and escalate according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations to site personnel.

What You'll Do:

• Respond to incidents, alarms, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance-related concerns to appropriate site personnel.
