Allied Universal in Scranton, PA is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time to provide flexible, dependable security coverage at an assigned site. The role offers up to 40 hours weekly by adding shifts, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour and a fixed shift base.

You will perform patrols, assist patients, visitors, and staff, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents, following site procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen are part of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations calmly and follow site protocols.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance issues to designated personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with healthcare staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

• Respond to incidents, medical‑related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow site protocols.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, policy concerns, and maintenance issues to designated personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with healthcare staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
