Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen to be conducted as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Hospital in Ventura, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner while communicating with appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including entrances, parking areas, perimeter, and other assigned locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site‑specific procedures, providing directions and assistance as needed.
• Document observations, incidents, and completed patrols accurately, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be willing to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be willing to work in and around a hospital morgue.
• Be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
