Job summary

Allied Universal in Ventura, CA, is seeking a Part Time Security Guard Hospital Response to protect patients, visitors, and staff while patrolling the hospital and enforcing access control. You will respond calmly to incidents and emergencies, maintain logs, and coordinate with hospital leadership.

The role emphasizes customer service, vigilance, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced healthcare setting with a flexible evening/night schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in and around a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, patient-related disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and wayfinding, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to site leadership.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication regarding incidents, patrol findings, and security-related activities.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in and/or around a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
