Job summary

Allied Universal in New Jersey is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Healthcare Patrol Response to support patient safety and facility security at a Westwood site. You will perform unarmed or healthcare-specific security duties, respond to incidents, and maintain logs while delivering courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• Drug screening may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents and medical emergencies in a calm, professional manner per hospital protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility including entrances, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity to hospital personnel or Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports per site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Healthcare Patrol Response in Westwood, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeWed03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner while following established hospital protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including entrances, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate hospital personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical‑related field.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
