Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer in Spartanburg, SC. You will monitor and patrol facilities, manage access control, and deliver customer service to employees and visitors.

Flexible scheduling and opportunities to explore new roles via our Shift platform are highlighted in this role. This position requires at least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed), a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and entry authorization in accordance with established site policies; document and report unusual activity, access concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs while maintaining professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
