Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Spartanburg, SC. You will protect clients across industries, maintain a visible presence, and support access control while delivering excellent customer service.

The role provides flexible day-time and night-time shifts, with a pay rate of $17.51 per hour. Candidates should meet minimum requirements and be capable of using computers or tablets on-site.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document observations per site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of facilities to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials per procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns and policy violations to site contacts or leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of technology and telecommunications facilities, office areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and security-related systems; verify credentials and follow established entry and escalation procedures.
• Support a professional environment by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and unusual conditions to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
