Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Verification in Milford, DE. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at a designated site and options to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will report to site leadership and perform access control, customer service, and incident response, with a part-time schedule of 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM on Wednesdays. Starting pay is $17.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and contractors following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Control access by verifying identification, credentials, and delivery documentation.
• Monitor entry/exit points, visitor activity, and vehicle traffic to protect personnel and assets.
• Respond calmly to incidents, document observations, and notify site contacts or responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility and surrounding areas; site conditions may vary by client.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food production location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation in accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, visitor activity, and vehicle traffic to help protect personnel, products, equipment, and restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and designated access points; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least six months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
