Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on access control, credential verification, and maintaining a secure environment at a fast-paced distribution location.

You will interact with employees and visitors and help ensure safety and compliance. As a Part Time position, it offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to earn additional shifts through our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience are preferred.
• Be at least 18 (unarmed) / 21+ (armed) years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by following security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles.
• Document activity and issue access credentials; report discrepancies to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicle operators entering or departing the distribution location.
• Document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity; issue access credentials as directed; and report access discrepancies or unusual activity to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
