Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer for Credential Authentication in New York, NY. You will protect clients across technology, media, and telecom sites by managing entry points, verifying credentials, and delivering professional customer service.

The role offers weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 4:00 PM–12:00 AM) with a pay rate of $19.25 per hour, plus training and growth opportunities within Allied Universal’s supportive environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• State, county, or city security license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 (unarmed) or 21 (armed) with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law; licensing rules may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, and deliveries.
• Manage visitor registration and issue access credentials, maintaining entry/exit records.
• Respond to access-related incidents calmly and escalate concerns per procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, access points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized access.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
• Manage visitor registration, issue access credentials, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Respond to access-related incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
