Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Entry Authorization Security Officer in New York, NY. You will provide access control at a government transportation location, verify credentials, and maintain logs with a strong focus on customer service.

This position offers a flexible Saturday/Sunday evening schedule, an $18.87/hour pay rate, and opportunities for growth within a dynamic security team. A NYS Security Guard License and background check are required, with at least one year of security

Qualifications

• Hold a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public at a government transportation location by carrying out access control procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, screening visitors, maintaining logs, and directing individuals per procedures.
• Respond calmly and professionally to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation related to visitor activity, incidents, access control, and shift observations.

Job Schedule:

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or members of the public at a government transportation location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, unauthorized entry attempts, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to visitor activity, incidents, access control, and/or shift observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Hold a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
