Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Brooklyn, NY. You will perform patrols, assist passengers, and maintain a visible security presence at a public transportation location. Flexible schedule with a focus on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, monitoring access, and following post orders. You must meet NYS security licensure requirements and pass background checks, with driving position having additional license expectations.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least six months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required per Allied Universal driver policy.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation will be conducted.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of transit facilities, bus areas, platforms, parking areas, and perimeters.

• Monitor access points and direct individuals as needed, reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and communicate with leadership and client representatives.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of transit facilities, bus areas, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directing individuals as needed, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership, client representatives, and public agency personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least six months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
