Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Part Time Credential Enrollment in Norfolk, VA. You will monitor access points, verify credentials, and provide exceptional customer service to clients and visitors, while maintaining a visible security presence at aerospace/defense locations.

As a part-time officer, you will build a flexible schedule using the Claim a Shift platform. The role emphasizes safety, integrity, and teamwork, with a starting pay rate of $18.50 per hour and a path to growth

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Monitor entry points and verify credentials and authorizations according to site procedures.
• Control access to restricted areas and report unauthorized access attempts.
• Conduct regular patrols to deter security-related concerns and respond to incidents calmly.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Monitor access control systems, verify credentials and authorizations, issue visitor or contractor access credentials, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Control access to restricted areas, coordinate visitor check-in requirements, and report unauthorized access attempts or credential concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, controlled areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
