Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by following site procedures and emergency protocols.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, disturbances, and critical situations professionally and per procedures.
• Monitor access to property and verify visitor/contractor/delivery authorization.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, incidents, and actions taken.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Risk Mitigation in Ashburn, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

$26.10 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Fri: 05:30 PM - 09:30 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out site‑specific procedures, school policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with school administrators and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access to school property and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery authorization in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
