Qualifications

• 3+ years as a military police, corrections officer, or armed security professional.
• Armed guard card or license.
• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Texas Level III armed certification.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• State and/or local licensing may be required before employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol Specialist in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to site needs. You will provide exceptional customer service, clear communication, and dependable support while representing Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thur: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Fri: 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM
• Sat: 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM
• Sun: 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor activity, patrol findings, incidents, and other security-related observations.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow applicable laws, policies, and post orders while performing armed duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years of experience as a military police officer, corrections officer, or armed security professional, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Possess Level III armed certification in Texas only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
