Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for afternoons in Blythewood, SC. The role focuses on serving and safeguarding clients across industries, with flexible scheduling and opportunities to explore new shifts using our Claim a Shift platform.

You will patrol unarmed at a manufacturing/industrial site, maintain a visible presence, assist with access control, and provide excellent customer service while upholding integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Have at least two years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately through required reports, logs, and/or electronic reporting systems.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Have at least two years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
