Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access - Weekends in Columbia, SC. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and manage visitor access at a chemical/petrochemical site while delivering excellent customer service.

The role includes weekend night and day shifts with secure access control responsibilities, patrol duties, and incident response. A background check and drug screen are required, with benefits for part-time employees.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law; licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical manufacturing location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-control and visitor records.
• Control access for contractors, vendors, and vehicles in accordance with site requirements, including directing visitors to appropriate check-in locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility buildings, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
