Allied Universal, a leader in security and facility services, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for an Alarm Access role in Columbia, SC. You will monitor entry points, manage badges, and respond to alarm activities while delivering excellent customer service. Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security-related experience required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 (unarmed) or 21+ (armed) depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, vendors, and personnel by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, and maintain logs.
• Coordinate vehicle access at gates and loading areas and communicate with dispatch.
• Respond calmly to incidents following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading docks, parking areas and perimeters.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 05:00 PM - 01:00 AM
• Sun 05:00 PM - 01:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, vendors, and personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to the facility.
• Coordinate vehicle access at gates and loading areas, communicate with dispatch and site personnel regarding arrivals, departures, and access-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading docks, parking areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience are required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
