Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Enhanced role offering a flexible schedule and opportunities to grow within the industry leader.

You will provide customer service, control access at a chemical/petrochemical site, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and conduct patrols, with a fixed shift anchor and optional extra shifts to boost earnings.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access to the chemical/petrochemical location by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorization, and contractor check-in requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeFri10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
