Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for an access-control focused role in Manassas, VA. The position emphasizes service to employees and visitors, monitoring entry points, and maintaining secure, welcoming environments at a technology-focused site.

You will use computer or tablet systems to document security-related information, verify credentials, and respond to incidents while supporting a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor and access-related records.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, common areas, business operations spaces, and the perimeter to help identify access-related concerns and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy concerns, access-control issues, and unusual activities.

What You\'ll Do
