Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Auburndale, FL to provide on-site access control, visitor management, and incident response at a logistics and distribution location. The role offers fixed-anchor shifts and the opportunity to pick up additional shifts with a pay rate of $17.60 per hour.

You will maintain security procedures, verify credentials, patrol premises, and support operations while meeting licensing and background check requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements dependent on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, and maintain visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records in accordance with site requirements.
• Control access to loading docks, warehouse areas, and other restricted locations, helping deter unauthorized entry and supporting orderly movement of personnel and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises including parking areas and access points; conditions may vary by client site.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and access points; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
