Allied Universal in Watsonville, CA is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Access Authorization. You will monitor entry points, verify access, and assist patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and care while maintaining a welcoming healthcare environment.

You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and respond effectively to security concerns. This position offers a flexible schedule with Fri/Sat night shifts and the ability to build additional shifts via our Claim a Shift

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• A background check will be conducted.
• A drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Monitor entry points and verify authorization for entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and perimeters.
• Document incidents and access-related activities accurately and communicate to leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry to restricted areas in accordance with healthcare facility policies.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Document incidents, observations, and access-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
