Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out access‑control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor and manage access points, verify authorization according to hospital procedures, and direct visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying hospital personnel and emergency responders as required.
• Maintain awareness of restricted areas and deter unauthorized access while supporting a welcoming healthcare environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter; environments may vary by location.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Registration in Watsonville, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (Anchor Shifts): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

• Monitor and manage access points, verify authorization in accordance with hospital procedures, and direct visitors, vendors, and contractors to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders as required.
• Maintain awareness of restricted areas and help to deter unauthorized access while supporting a welcoming healthcare environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
