Job summary

Allied Universal® in Granite City, IL is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for Credential Checkpoint duties at an industrial site. You will protect employees, visitors, and contractors by managing entry, verifying badges, and maintaining a professional presence.

The role offers a flexible part-time schedule with the pay rate of $18.50 per hour and opportunities to learn through our Claim a Shift platform and grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points at an industrial manufacturing location by verifying credentials, screening authorized vehicles and personnel, maintaining visitor records, and directing guests in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential hazards.
• Complete accurate reports, logs, and shift documentation related to access activity, incidents, patrols, and policy violations.
