Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Sioux Falls, SD. You will provide customer service, screen visitors, and monitor access points at a technology, media, and telecom site, using company systems to document activity and maintain a safe environment.

This role offers flexible scheduling with shifts such as DayTime Thu 4:00 AM–8:00 AM and Fri 4:00 AM–8:00 AM, with pay rate of $20.14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by following site-specific procedures and access-control requirements.
• Screen individuals, personal items, packages, and deliveries using assigned screening equipment and established protocols; document and escalated prohibited or suspicious items and/or activity.
• Verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor access before allowing entry to designated areas; maintain accurate entry and screening records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
