Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer for the Overnight Shift Patrol in Cumberland, MD. This part-time role offers an overnight schedule with a pay rate of $17.25 per hour.

You will provide customer service, monitor sites, respond to incidents, and perform regular patrols while upholding site policies and procedures. A high school diploma and background check are required; a valid driver’s license may be needed for driving

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen to be conducted as a condition of employment; licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-condition reports, and critical situations following site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor/contractor authorization, report suspicious activity or policy violations.

Job Schedule:

• Fri 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Sun 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-condition reports, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, operational areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report suspicious activity or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
