Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Observation in Portland, TX. You will serve clients with unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a secure environment for employees and visitors.

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you while using our Claim a Shift platform. You will respond to incidents, monitor access, and communicate with site personnel in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner following site procedures.
• Monitor access and visitor activity, verify credentials, and document observations and patrol activities in required reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, emergency responders, and leadership regarding security-related concerns.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, buildings, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and escalation protocols.
• Monitor access and visitor activity, verify credentials as assigned, and document observations, incidents, and patrol activities in required reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and operational updates.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
