Job summary

The Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Association is seeking a part-time Security Officer for overnight shifts (6p-6a). The officer will ensure a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, while performing duties such as patrols, incident reporting, and monitoring facility access.

This role requires a GED/high school diploma and experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Training in CPI crisis intervention and BLS certification are required within the first 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience working in a hospital preferred.
• CPI non-violent crisis intervention training required within the first 90 days of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), with a recommended renewal date required within the first 90 days of employment.

Job Overview

Overnight Shift (6p-6a), Part Time – 24 hours per week, Every Other Weekend Only (Friday through Monday).

The Security Officer works under general supervision to provide a secure and safe environment for the protection of patients, visitors, physicians, hospital personnel, and hospital assets.

Responsibilities

• Building and grounds patrol
• Provide escort service for visitors and staff
• Assist in control of facility access
• Monitor systems response
• Assist staff with patient intervention/disruption by patients, visitors or staff
• Traffic control of both vehicular and visitors
• Investigate thefts, disturbances and suspicious activity
• Record keeping and incident reporting
• Enforce hospital safety and security policies and practices
• Disaster, fire and hazard surveillance

Education and Experience

• GED or high school diploma required
• 2 years experience working in a hospital preferred

Certificates

• CPI non-violent crisis intervention training required within first 90 days of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) with a recommended renewal date required within first 90 days of employment
