Job summary

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is hiring a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues. Responsibilities include patrolling the property, responding to emergencies, monitoring cameras and access control, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Ideal candidates have a desire to serve others, strong communication skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.
• Previous security experience preferred. CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hotel property, including guest areas, back-of-house, parking lots, and perimeter grounds to detect and respond to suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including medical calls, fire alarms, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs in accordance with hotel and legal standards.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are followed related to safety, emergency protocols, and access control.
• Provide escort services for guests and colleagues when requested.
• Support fire and life safety programs, including participation in drills and regular checks of fire equipment and exits.
• Assist with lost and found procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, colleagues, and visitors at the hotel.
