Job summary

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors. Responsibilities include patrolling, incident response, monitoring surveillance, and enforcing safety protocols at the Maryland resort.

The role requires standing long periods, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol hotel property including guest areas and perimeter grounds to detect and respond to suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Respond to emergencies including medical calls, fire alarms, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
• Ensure hotel policies and procedures are followed related to safety, emergency protocols, and access control.
• Provide escort services for guests and colleagues when requested.
• Support fire and life safety programs and participate in drills.
• Assist with lost and found procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Work with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.

Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, colleagues, and visitors at the hotel. This position supports the protection of property, assets, and people through patrolling, incident response, monitoring surveillance systems, and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including Maryland security licensing requirements.

What You'll Do

• Patrol hotel property, including guest areas, back-of-house, parking lots, and perimeter grounds to detect and respond to suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including medical calls, fire alarms, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs in accordance with hotel and legal standards.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are followed related to safety, emergency protocols, and access control.
• Provide escort services for guests and colleagues when requested.
• Support fire and life safety programs, including participation in drills and regular checks of fire equipment and exits.
• Assist with lost and found procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
