Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated Security Officer Morgue Security Detail in Birmingham, AL. In this full-time role you will protect patients, visitors and staff in a healthcare setting, monitor entrances, patrol areas, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

You will work nights, maintain accurate reports, and adhere to hospital vaccination requirements and local regulations. Prior customer service experience is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required only for driving

Qualifications

• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; coordinate with appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, badge verification, and direction-giving.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation; report unusual conditions to site leadership.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, badge verification, and direction-giving in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation; promptly report unusual conditions, hazards, and/or policy violations to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
