Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Birmingham, AL. You will monitor and protect clients across healthcare settings, perform unarmed patrols, and provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.

As part of a fast-moving team, you will follow site procedures, report incidents, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment while supporting access control and safety measures on shift.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of facilities and perimeters to deter incidents.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction and reporting.
• Document incidents and patrol activity accurately for leadership.

As an Unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help maintain a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and support access control activities. You will conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $12.92 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access control procedures, and reporting of suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
