Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Healthcare Security Officer for a hospital morgue environment in Hopewell, VA. You will patrol and monitor hospital areas, maintain a visible presence, and provide compassionate customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

The role requires at least one year of security experience, hospital environment exposure including morgue, and the ability to respond to emergencies with professionalism. Full-time schedule with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must meet hospital vaccine requirements and work in a hospital environment including a morgue.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles; background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations calmly and coordinate with healthcare personnel or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and monitoring of restricted areas per site procedures.
• Document incidents and daily activities accurately and report concerns to site leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Mon 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Fri 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with appropriate healthcare personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and monitoring of restricted areas in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and report security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
• Be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
• Be able to restrain individuals.
• Have at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
