Allied Universal in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Security Officer Mobile Patrol Driver to protect campus facilities and deter incidents. The role requires patrolling, monitoring access, and exceptional customer service for students, staff and visitors.

A valid driver’s license is required for driving assignments; a guard card/license is preferred. The work schedule is full-time with evening shifts, and the pay rate is $22.45 per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, classrooms, and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity or hazards to relevant personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
