Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Tempe, AZ. This role offers fixed anchor shifts and a flexible Earn More/Claim-A-Shift program to increase hours across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have at least six months of security experience, HS diploma, and comfort using computers. Pay is $20/hour with potential to scale hours while maintaining a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors following site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for restricted areas.
• Document observations and communicate findings to site contacts and leadership.

As a Security Officer - Lab Flex in Tempe, AZ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Wed 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare laboratory environment.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted laboratory, clinical, and administrative areas in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
