Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer - Information Center in New York, NY. You will provide visitor assistance, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism while maintaining a visible security presence at a prominent public-facing location.

This role offers daytime shifts with a pay rate of $19.30 per hour. A NYS Security Guard License is required, along with a high school diploma and background screening.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, patrons, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, patron concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout public areas, staff spaces, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, helping to maintain orderly operations and report unusual conditions in accordance with site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
