Security Officer II - Armed as School Guardian Pool 2026-2027

• Position Type: Security/Campus Security Officer

Under general supervision, provide security and protection for students, staff, and visitors within assigned area of the district. Provides escort services, and other basic public assistance services as needed. Performs routine security and public safety patrol duties within assigned area. Remains alert to emergency situations and provides first-line response, emergency management, and/or referral if required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification/Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license
• Minimum 5 years law enforcement work experience
• License to Carry Handgun issued under Texas Government Code
• Certificate of school safety training under Government Code 411.1901 – certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment or next available training date.
• Working knowledge of security-related and emergency operations planning, technology (security cameras) preferred
