Job summary

Canterbury Woods Retirement Community in Pacific Grove, CA is seeking a part-time Security & Transportation staff member for weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday 6am-2:30pm). The role pays $22.00–$23.00 per hour and focuses on protecting residents and employees, responding to alarms, and maintaining safety throughout the campus.

Responsibilities include patrolling grounds and common areas, reporting incidents, assisting residents and visitors, and following the facility’s disaster and safety

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Security Guard Card is a desirable credential (nonessential).

Responsibilities

• Patrols outside grounds, lobbies, corridors and access points to ensure safety.
• Responds to fire alarms, emergency switches, and other emergencies.
• Keeps accurate logs of shift activities and reports incidents to supervisor.
• Assists residents, families, coworkers and vendors with security-related needs.
• Follows safety standards and uses PPE as required.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $23.00

Summary:
Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Detailed responsibilities:

• Security I
• Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
• Patrols, periodically, outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors and public rooms, access points of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff
• Responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation and other emergencies
• Graciously warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and devises, reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Investigates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports, gives copies to supervisor and maintains a file on them
• Keeps accurate log of shift activities
• Occasionally performs emergency janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms
• Familiar with all disaster, fire and other emergency procedures as outlined in facility disaster plan
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
• Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs

• All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees
