Job summary

Canterbury Woods Retirement Community in Pacific Grove, CA is seeking a weekend Security Officer to protect residents and staff, monitor entrances, patrol grounds, and respond to alarms. The role runs Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 2:30pm with a pay range of $22.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for residents and employees and protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and entry by monitoring access points.
• Patrol campus grounds, lobbies, corridors, and public rooms to ensure safety and security.
• Respond to fire alarms, emergencies, and other security events and take appropriate action.
• Warn violators of rules and report or eject individuals displaying suspicious or criminal behavior.
• Maintain accurate incident and loss reports; file documentation with supervisor.

Summary

Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Detailed responsibilities

• * Security I
• Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
• Patrols, periodically, outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors and public rooms, access points of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff
• Responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation and other emergencies
• Graciously warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and devises, reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Investigates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports, gives copies to supervisor and maintains a file on them
• Keeps accurate log of shift activities
• Occasionally performs emergency janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms
• Familiar with all disaster, fire and other emergency procedures as outlined in facility disaster plan
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
• Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs
• Front Porch is committed to the prevention of accidents by providing equipment with safeguards, personal safety equipment on jobs which require it, and adequate safety instructions to all employees
• All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees
