Responsibilities

• Provide security services for residents and employees of Canterbury Woods Retirement Community.
• Patrol campus grounds, lobbies, corridors and access points to ensure safety.
• Respond to fire alarms, emergencies, and other incidents.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and document incidents.
• Complete resident loss and incident reports; keep log of shift activities.
• Assist with emergency procedures and safety drills as required.
• Follow PPE and safety standards; report hazards to supervisor.
• Support campus-wide safety programs and maintain a safe work environment.

Summary:
Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Detailed responsibilities

• * Security I
• - Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
• - Patrols, periodically, outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors and public rooms, access points of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff
• - Responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation and other emergencies
• - Graciously warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and devises, reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• - Investigates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports, gives copies to supervisor and maintains a file on them
• - Keeps accurate log of shift activities
• - Occasionally performs emergency janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms
• - Familiar with all disaster, fire and other emergency procedures as outlined in facility disaster plan
• - Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
• - Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs
