Responsibilities

Job Summary

This role involves security activities to protect persons, property, and equipment by patrolling hospital campuses and clinics. Responsibilities include monitoring for violations, suspicious activities, unauthorized access, and safety hazards, and responding appropriately.

• Investigate security incidents, report hazards, respond to alarms and emergency codes.
• Control access by verifying identities.
• Monitor fire and intrusion systems.
• Support helistop operations within scope.
• De-escalate or restrain individuals when necessary.
• Document actions and observations.

This position may require physical activity, including running and climbing stairs, and involves shift and weekend work with standing or walking for extended periods.

Essential Job Duties

• Protect property and deter criminal activity through visible presence and patrols.
• Provide customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.
• Restrain or subdue individuals posing harm, using conflict resolution skills.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• At least six months of security, healthcare, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean five-year record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Licensure/Certification

• Valid driver’s license and ongoing clean driving record.
• IAHSS Basic Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Training in handcuffs, pepper spray, control shield, and BLS within 60 days, with re-certification every two years.

Pay Range

$22.79 - $31.33/hour
