Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Part Time for Hotel Access Control in Laguna Beach, CA. You will greet guests, monitor access, and respond to security-related concerns while maintaining a welcoming, safe environment.

This role offers a swing shift with weekend coverage and opportunities to grow within a leading security services company. The position requires a guard card or license (preferred), high school diploma, and the ability to work 3:00 PM–11:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to hotel guests, visitors, and staff while following security procedures.
• Monitor front desk access, verify authorization, issue credentials and logs.
• Respond to concerns, incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and professionally.
• Observe lobby activity, report suspicious behavior, deter unauthorized access.
• Document incidents and coordinate with hotel personnel and emergency services as needed.

Position Type: Part Time / Swing Shift

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to hotel guests, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access at the front desk, verify visitor and contractor authorization, issue credentials or access materials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
• Respond to guest concerns, incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established procedures.
• Observe lobby and entry activity from a stationary post, report suspicious or unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Assist with security-related communications, including receiving calls, documenting incidents, coordinating with hotel personnel, and contacting emergency services when directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
