Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for the Hospital Afternoon Shift in Chattanooga, TN. This role focuses on patient, visitor, staff, and vendor safety while delivering excellent customer service within a healthcare environment.

You will patrol facilities, monitor access points, and respond to emergencies using established protocols. A valid driver’s license and a minimum of one year in security are required.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license may be required where applicable.
• Minimum one year of security-related experience.
• Be able to work in a hospital environment and follow vaccination requirements.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles (21+ for armed).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and location policies.
• Respond to incidents and medical emergencies calmly, using established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility interiors, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management and access control per location policies.
• Document observations and incidents and communicate findings to supervision and staff.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Tue 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Fri 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sat 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sun 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or access concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directions, and access control procedures in accordance with location-specific policies.
• Document observations, incidents, and responses accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and location personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
• Be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
