Job summary

Allied Universal’s Security Officer Hospital Security position in Chattanooga, TN, is a part-time role within a healthcare setting. You’ll provide front-line security, assist patients and staff, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

This role emphasizes customer service, adherence to site procedures, and collaboration with hospital leadership. A high school diploma and hospital environment tolerance are required, with vaccination and background checks as standard

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be comfortable working in a hospital environment that may include exposure to the morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as requested, and report unauthorized access or unusual activity to site leadership.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and complete required reports in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
