Job summary

Brigham Young University Hawaii is seeking a security guard to guard, patrol, or monitor premises, respond to emergencies, and support safety initiatives on campus.

You will secure facilities, respond to alarms, document incidents, perform routine patrols, and participate in training. Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays; prior modest experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Lower Division Courses Completed.
• 3 Months General Work Experience.
• Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Secures all university facilities and ensures that facilities are properly secured.
• Responds to all emergency calls, intrusion alarms and fire alarms and ensures that proper procedures are followed.
• Maintains and enforces trespass/ban list.
• Routine patrols of the campus and its facilities.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Patrol campus premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Render first aid care as needed.
• Report potential risk management or occupational safety issues.
• Attend all training and department meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules; respond to first aid emergencies; support occupational safety or risk mitigation initiatives

Primary Responsibilities

• Secures all university facilities and ensures that facilities are properly secured.
• Responds to all emergency calls, intrusion alarms and fire alarms and ensures that proper procedures are followed.

Approximate starting hourly rate: 14.00 - 15.00. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.
