Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents calmly and follow established procedures with appropriate personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Visitor Access in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and respond to security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, maintain visitor and driver logs, and direct authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Observe inbound and outbound traffic, help to deter unauthorized entry, and report suspicious activity, access-control concerns, and policy violations to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking lots, and the business perimeter, as assigned by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
