Job summary

Allied Universal, Honolulu, HI, seeks a Security Officer for full-time unarmed routine patrols. You will monitor campus areas, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while upholding site-specific procedures.

Responsibilities include regular patrols, responding to alarms, controlling access, and documenting activities. The role requires 18+ for unarmed, HS diploma, background check, and a driving license where applicable; schedule is Mon–Fri 4:00

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: license preferred, 18+ for unarmed roles (21+ for armed), high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by policy and law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing and driving requirements per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions and policy concerns.
• Document patrol activities and observations with accurate reports and professional communication.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations through accurate reports and maintain professional communication with the campus community.

Minimum Requirements

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
