Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a security officer in San Jose, CA for full-time, unarmed patrol duties at transit facilities. You will provide customer service and perform area checks, report incidents and maintain security protocols. CPR and guard credentials are preferred; background checks apply. • Complete accurate activity reports and communicate observations to supervisors and client representatives.

Pay Rate: $22.83 / Hour

• Mon: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Fri: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at transportation facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and suspicious behavior according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Complete accurate activity reports and communicate observations to supervisors and client representatives in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
