Allied Universal in Chicago, IL is hiring a Security Officer for full‑time unarmed patrols on a busy campus environment. You will deter incidents, provide excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors, and operate in alignment with site protocols.

The role pays $23.74 per hour with day and evening shifts; you will perform routine patrols, monitor entrances, and respond to alarms or emergencies with professionalism and integrity. Allied Universal offers growth and flexible shifts.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Circuit in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming campus environment. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
