As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Driver Route Response in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and respond to security‑related concerns with integrity, teamwork, and care.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence‑adjacent spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, facility concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
